| Writing a good job listing has never been more important than
NOW! More and more research is showing why job seekers
respond to job listings. The main reason an active job seeker
responds to a job listing is that the job has well written job
titles and descriptions and provides the necessary information to
make an informed decision about applying for it.. Writing a good job description with unique content and keywords demonstrates to the job seeker that you are serious about filling the position and that you have taken the time necessary to properly post the job. Job seekers are smart and very particular about which jobs they apply to. Very few job seekers will respond to a job listing that doesn’t have adequate information for them to make an informed decision about applying. All job listings should contain the information listed below.
- Description with multiple versions of the profession title along with the city and state. It is very important that you use unique descriptions. Its okay to list the same general information such as pay, benefits and the company mission statement, but each job should have its own unique description listed above the general information. It’s a good idea to include information about the area attractions too.
- City and state - Using ‘Various’ or ‘North’ in place of an actual city almost completely eliminates any response you’ll receive from job seekers. It will also eliminate the job from being cross-posted to other sites that only accept actual cities in the location field.
- Job Title with multiple versions of the profession. An emergency room nursing position in Orlando could be listed as,
Emergency Room Nurse – ER Nurse – Orlando. Other examples
of job titles are:
Critical Care Nurse/CCU RN/Boston Massachusetts
Physical Therapist/PT/RPT/San Diego California It's also a very
