Pay and Incentives of Travel Nursing

Do all travel nursing assignments pay the same?

Pay rates vary depending on the facility, location, specialty, credentials and experience. Companies negotiate top rates for travelers and, as a result, pay rates are extremely competitive, typically ranging from $24 to $40 per hour. In addition, many hospitals offer generous completion and sign-on bonuses, ranging from $250 to $6,000.

How will I receive my travel nursing pay?

Many travel companies provide payment by direct deposit into your bank account or by overnight mail. If you choose direct deposit, your payroll stub will be mailed to you for your records.

Is there a referral bonus for recommending other travel nurses?

Most companies will reward you by sending you a check for 100-$500 as soon as your friend or colleague completes his or her first 13-week assignment.

Are there sign-on or completion bonuses for travel nursing?

Many of the assignments offer cash bonuses ranging from $250 to $6000. These incentives are usually offered as completion bonuses and are paid at the end of your assignment. Ask your recruiter for more information.
