Job Description
The VA North Texas Health Care System, Dallas, TX is actively recruiting for a radiation oncologist. The Dallas VA Medical Center currently is equipped with advanced medical technology including two high-energy Varian 23EX linear accelerators with 120 leaf MLC, IMPAC, CT Simulation, CMS Monaco IMRT and XiO 3D treatment planning. The service is installing new equipment including Pinnacle TPS, MOSAIQ, and a Phillips Big Bore 4D CT Simulator. Programs for IGRT, PET/CT simulation, SRS/SRT, and HDR are ongoing or in development. The radiation oncologist's duties would include consultation on new patients, treatment planning, follow up patient care, and participation in multi-disciplinary tumor boards. All duties and responsibilities are carried out on-site and independently in accordance with Veterans Administration policies and guidelines, and are supervised by the Chief, Radiation Oncology Service. On call duties are required on a rotating basis with other staff physicians. Pay scale will be at least commensurate with similar academic institutions.

Qualifications include:
? Board certification by the American Board of Radiology ? Must be a U.S. citizen and possess an active medical license to practice in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the U.S. or in the District of Columbia. ? Strong academic research is desirable but not required.
