Coordinates with other team clinicians to provide optimum care for individual patients. Must be proficient in multiple programs and work as a member of Trans-disciplinary team. Provides direct patient care in acute care hospital, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatients, and pain program as needed. Supervises Physical Therapist Technicians/Assistants, students and in-service staff.



Demonstrates knowledge if infection control and isolation techniques.

Evaluations performed in timely manner on assigned patients in response to medical referral as written in policies and procedures.

Develops, documents and implements appropriate treatment plan, including S/LT goals and rationale for consistent treatment with modification and priorities noted in documentation. Supervises and utilizes supportive personnel as appropriate; delegate and check on follow through.

Provides treatment in an organized and efficient manner. Modifies treatment strategies per patient's tolerance and progress.

Participates in continuing education on ongoing basis. Attends 80% of in-service. Attends one offsite continuing education class per year. Supervises students on clinical affiliations.

Orients new staff and students to department per orientation manuals.

Provides in-service to departments.






Position Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

B.S./B.A. or Equivalent

Major: Physical Therapy-B.S. or M.S.



Minimum Experience/Skills:

2-3 years.



Licenses/Certificates/Credentials:

California P.T license, BCLS
