Provides direct and indirect patient care in the outpatient sports medicine and rehab setting. Is responsible for the scheduling of new and recurring outpatient rehab appointments. Must be knowledgeable of approved insurance plans and authorized patient visits. Is responsible for the completion of diagnosis specific, age specific physical therapy evaluations. Evaluations may include joint specific special testing to assess joint mobility, instability, or other derangement in addition to the assessment of patient's functional abilities and deficits. Is responsible for the development of a treatment plan including establishment of long and short-term goals. Administers ongoing patient care appropriate to the patient's functional level or based on the patient's response to treatment. Progress in achieving physical therapy goals is assessed on an ongoing basis with timely communication to MD and/or case manager. Communicates with MD as needed about changes in the patient's medical condition. Acts as a mentor and provides ongoing supervision of patient care delegated to physical therapist assistant, physical therapy technician, and students. Participates in marketing visits to MD offices as needed. May be required to work at any of the outpatient rehab sites as designated by supervisor and be available evenings and Saturdays as dictated by outpatient volume.

Education: Bachelors Degree and/or Masters degree from an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline.

Experience: Must have completed one student internship in an outpatient orthopedic rehab setting.
Professional Requirement: State of Tennessee PT license
Certifications: BLS certification
