This is what you'll experience when you join the family-centered Neonatal Unit at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. Serving families throughout the southwest, our Neonatal Unit consists of an 11-bed Level 1 Nursery and a 65-bed tertiary care NyICU where healthcare professionals provide a higher level of care for infants during weeks 23 to 42 weeks of gestation. From delivery to discharge, we provide a unique continuity of care for these special patients, including a hypothermia program and maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3-4 based on patient acuity.Located on the 5th floor of the main building, our Neonatal Unit is in the process of becoming a national Newborn Individualized Developmental Care and Assessment Program (NIDCAP) training center. We offer a wide range of specialty care practices and therapies for neonates including high-frequency jet/oscillator ventilation, nitric oxide, surfactant replacement therapy, ECMO, neurological work ups and intervention, cardiac, and surgical and medical therapies.

LIVE YOUR LIFE ON PURPOSE and JOIN US NOW as we are seeking a dynamic Nurse Manager for our Neonatal Unit to join our management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the 24-hour management of unit which duties include: the coordination of work of approximately 215 licensed and unlicensed personnel (including 5 supervisors and 1 educator); the development and implementation of a cost-effective, 24-hours staffing pattern within the unit(s) to meet needs of patients and labor budget; the participation within the department of nursing service in establishing the standards of patient care, policies, and objectives of the unit; communicating such standards, policies and objectives to unit(s) staff, patients, family and community; the hiring, training, evaluation and discipline of staff members as well as ensuring the compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies such as JCAHO, Health Departments and OSHA.
REQUIREMENTS:
BSN required (or currently enrollment toward BSN), AZ RN license, PALS and four years of registered nurse experience required.
