The Physical Therapist Assistant, working under the guidelines of licensure from the Medical Board of Quality Assurance in the State of California and the American Physical Therapy Association Ethics and Standards of Practice, provides patient care as delegated and under the supervision of a qualified Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant supports and participates in the Quality Assurance for the Service and assists in the integration of continuous quality improvement of Rehabilitative Services and St. Bernardine Medical Center/Community Hospital of San Bernardino. The Physical Therapist Assistant assists the Director in the accomplishment of Business, CHW Mission and Quality Objectives of the Service and of St. Bernardine Medical Center/Community Hospital of San Bernardino. The Physical Therapist Assistant is involved in the scope of services for inpatient and outpatient care, such as Neurology, Orthopedics, Oncology, Cardiology, Medical/Surgical, Skilled Nursing and wound care. The Physical Therapist Assistant works with an age population from neonatal through geriatric. The Physical Therapist Assistant recognizes and complies with the policy on Cultural Diversity. The Physical Therapist Assistant is able to work seven days a week, a day shift, insuring care to patients within the confines of St. Bernardine Medical Center and/or Community Hospital of San Bernardino. Requirements: Minimum Certificate of Completion for Physical Therapy Assistant from a School of Physical Therapy Assistant or has successfully challenged the boards. Current registration, certification, or license as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the respective state in which one practices. Current BLS certification. A licensed applicant must have proof of current applicant status
