Job Description
High School Diploma or equivalent. Meets the education and certification requirements for licensure as a Laboratory Assistant and a Point of Care Analyst as outlined by the State of Nevada. Must meet the experience requirements for licensure as a Laboratory Assistant and Point of Care Analyst as outlined by the State of Nevada. Demonstrates ability through experience to perform a minimum of office functions as described in the job description for a Billing Rep./Receptionist, Clinical Lab. Appropriately licensed by the State of Nevada or eligible for licensure within six months. Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak fluent English. Ability to work and problem solve independently. Flexibility to work any shift as needed.The Laboratory Assistant II collects and processes inpatient and outpatient blood specimens to be analyzed by testing staff and performs point of care testing, under the supervision of a Medical Technologist, using a point of care device to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
