Job Description
Typing Speed of 35 wpm required. Must be able to work in various patient service centers throughout county. Under general supervision and medical direction, ensures an efficient and organized office for the laboratory. Performs data entry, registers patients, collects co pays appropriately, collects demographics and insurance information while securing appropriate signatures and performs various duties associated with clinical laboratory functions that are clerical in nature. These tasks encompass but are not limited to such acts as specimen handling, telephone communication, filing, sorting and distribution. Frequent use of the hospital/laboratory computer. Provide CHW payment assistance program information to the patient. Checks Eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, PCP approval requirements, and billing requirements, as appropriate.This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
