Job Description
SEIU UNION. Must be able to work in various patient service centers throughout county. Under general supervision and medical direction, performs venipunctures and capillary punctures techniques, understands the collection and distribution of various lab specimens. Other duties associated with clinical laboratory functions are clerical in nature, including, but not limited to such acts as telephone communication, filing, sorting, distribution, typing, data entry and frequent use of the laboratory computer system to process specimens. Registers patients, collects co pays appropriately, collects demographics and insurance information while securing appropriate signatures. Additionally, use of personal vehicles may be required. Provide CHW payment assistance program information to the patient. Checks eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, PCP approval requirements, and billing requirements, as appropriate.This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
