Job Description
Under the general direction of the Medical Director, the Department Manager, and Supervisor, the Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for providing respiratory care services to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric critical care patients for St. Rose Dominican Hospital. These services will be delivered in accordance with specific physician orders and department policies and procedures. RCP critical care providers will be required to work a minimum of 80% of scheduled shifts in critical care. This position is represented by SEIU, Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.Does this position require patient contact? Yes
SPECIFICATIONS
Description Minimum Required Preferred / Desired
Experience
Six months expeience required with
competency assessment.
Two years of recent critical care experience
preferred.
Education
High School Diploma. Completion of an
approved, accredited school of respiratory.
Training
Special Skills
Outstanding clinical, communication and
interpersonal skills required.
Licensure
Required: LIC BGT = Licensed Blood Gas Technologist.
CT CRTH or RG RT = Cert Respiratory Therapist or
Registered Respiratory Therapist, CT CPRBLS = Basic
Life Support CPR. Preferred: CT CPRACLS = Advanced
Cardiac Life Support CPR. CT CPRPALS = Pediatric
Advanced Life Support. CT NRP = Neonatal Resuscitation.
